Their flights take off every 30 minutes. Their “cargo” consists of adults and children in need from all parts of America. Their airfare costs absolutely nothing.

They're Angel Flight America—a non-profit, grassroots corps of over 7,200 volunteer pilots and outreach volunteers from all 50 states—and our country's largest non-emergency volunteer aviation charity. Their goal is simple: provide free flights of hope and healing in small airplanes whenever there is a compelling human need.

Pilots who generously donate their time to Angel Flight America also cover the entire expense of their flights, including fuel costs, landing fees and airplane maintenance. Their missions include:

• Transporting people who need access to life-saving care to distant medical facilities. To ensure each patient's well-being, Angel Flight America will also provide free transportation to a family member or friend
• Precious cargo transport including organs, blood, tissue and medial supplies
• Disaster relief assistance. During the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, for example, Angel Flight America flew over 2,200 missions that reunited separated families, relocated Gulf Coast evacuees to safe housing and transported emergency workers and supplies into flood-ravaged areas.
